FAQs
What does “Petrichor” mean?
Petrichor /ˈpeˌtrīkôr/ noun
the pleasant smell that frequently accompanies the first rain after a long period of warm, dry weather.
Portraiture /’por-tre-choor/ noun
the art of creating portraits
I like interesting words. I LOVE the smell of the earth after it rains. I never knew it had an assigned word until a few years ago. And when I found out that it did, I realized that is exactly how I want my work to feel to people— distinct, grounding and pleasant. Again, (s)crunchy mom over here.
What time of day do you usually schedule?
I prefer scheduling all outdoor photo sessions during sunrise or sunset, as these times offer the most flattering light. Midday sessions aren’t ideal because the overhead sun creates harsh light and shadows. For indoor shoots, it’s best to choose a space with plenty of open windows and natural light to ensure beautifully lit photos.
Do you retouch photos?
Color grading is one of my favorite parts of the process—it’s where the magic really comes to life. However, heavy retouching of your body or face isn’t my style. I believe you are beautiful just as you are, and I want your photos to reflect your natural essence.
How do we book you?
Either via IG messages or e-mail. A $100 deposit and signed contract is required to hold the date we agree on. Remaining balance is due by the date of your session.
What is your turn-around time?
You’ll receive your private gallery within 6-12 weeks from your session, or by a date previously discussed and agreed upon. Galleries are edited in order they occur.
Can you help plan “the vibes”?
Absolutely! I love curating shoots and crafting the perfect colors, aesthetics, and scenes. Share your Pinterest mood board with me, and I’ll help bring your vision to life.
What should we wear?
I’m a big fan of neutral and earthy tones that complement each other beautifully. The style and colors of your clothing play a key role in telling your story, so be sure they suit the location of your shoot. Ultimately, I want you to feel like you're staying true to your own style while creating a look that enhances your story.
Can you help me choose a location?
Take a moment to consider locations that hold personal meaning for you and your story—maybe it’s a park you love, where you first met, your first date spot, or even your home. The deeper your connection to a place, the more cherished your photos will become.
How will we receive our photos and how many images are included?
Your images will be delivered through a private gallery on Pic-Time, where you can download them to your computer. You’ll have three months to access and save your gallery.
I don’t provide a set number of photos per gallery because my photography style is documentarian—I capture the emotions, feelings, and moments as they unfold. Every meaningful memory I witness is yours to keep. While I can’t provide a definitive amount, I will say I am generous with the number of images I usually deliver.
How long have you been doing this?
My passion for photography began as a child, flipping through my parent's old photo albums. Even then, I was drawn to the small details in everyday life that tell a bigger story, even in the simplest moments. I spent my high school years renting cameras from the photography class, and in 2013, I got my first DSLR. In 2015, I took on my first professional photography job, and since then, I’ve had the pleasure of capturing countless joyful moments for others.
